Unison Notes

Natural Notes on the Guitar

Two notes that have the same pitch are in unison with each other. For example, the "E" on the second string at the fifth fret, and the "E" on the open first string are in unison with each other. If your guitar is properly tuned, these two notes should sound the same. Guitarists may use unison pitches as an aid in tuning the guitar.
