Alternate Fingering for the D Minor Chord

Primary Chords in the Key of A Minor

When you learn a new chord, you should also learn any common alternate fingering for the chord. The D minor chord is often played with the first, second, and fourth fingers (instead of the first, second, and third fingers). The fingering you choose may be determined based on what comes before or after the chord. For this lesson, try out each set of fingering for the Dm chord. For your next video assessment, you may use your choice of left-hand fingering for the Dm chord.
