The Blues Scale
To play the E blues scale, you would add A sharp (fifth string, first fret and third string, third fret) to the E minor pentatonic scale. The A sharp notes have been highlighted in the scale below.
After you memorize the scale pattern, you may want to improvise some blues music with the E blues scale. Select the following video of the E blues scale with improvisation.
