Learning to Read Fretboard Diagrams Overview

No one has ever been too good at reading and writing. The more you use these skills, the better you will become at using them. The better the reader and writer you are, the more opportunities you will have.

Reading is also important in the world of music. In addition to reading words and lyrics, musicians learn to read (or interpret) various forms of music notation. Guitar music is commonly notated using any of the following systems:

• Fretboard diagrams
• Tablature
• Standard music notation

In this course, you will learn to read these common forms of notation. The better you become at reading each notational system, the more music you will be able to play and compose.
