What if all people were exactly the same, having the same physical appearance, personality, and interests? What if all trees, plants, and flowers were exactly the same, with no variations in size, shape, or color? What if every house, office building, store, and church, looked exactly the same? Our lives would be much less interesting and enjoyable, and in some ways much more difficult. What if, in music, there was only one note or one type of chord? How much would you enjoy music if it all sounded the same?
Fortunately, there are many types of chords, each having a unique quality. This difference helps give each piece of music a unique sound. In this lesson, you will learn to strum three chords with different qualities: E minor (Em); E major (E); and E dominant seventh (E7).
