Have you ever needed a map to help you get to where you were going? Maps are available on printed paper, in books, and online. Maps in various forms have been used for centuries, yet they’re still a necessary tool today. A map is a symbolic representation of a geographical area. Road maps are helpful tools, in that they give their readers the information necessary to make correct choices when traveling.

In this lesson, you will learn to read and interpret guitar tablature (TAB). This system of notation uses symbolic and numeric representation of strings and frets, much like a road map for playing the guitar.
