The E Minor Pentatonic Scale
Quick Start for Playing Scales
Let’s play the E minor pentatonic scale by reading tablature. Use your third finger to play notes on the third fret and your second finger to play notes on the second fret.
Each chord has a related scale. The E minor chord and E minor pentatonic scale are related. The notes used in the Em chord (E, G, and B) are all part of the E minor pentatonic scale (E, G, A, B, and D). Scales may have more than one note per string; chords will have no more than one note per string.
