Performance Goals
qUICK START FOR IMPROVISATION
Practice improvising until you can answer “yes” to the following questions:
- Are you holding the guitar correctly, using your choice of positioning?
- Is your guitar tuned correctly?
- Are you using correct right-hand form to play downstrokes with the pick?
- Are you playing correct frets with proper left-hand fingers and form?
- Are you playing with a steady beat (without pausing), no matter how slowly you play?
- Does your improvisation use each of the Five R’s at least once?
When you have accomplished the performance goals for your improvised solo, you will then be ready to complete your assignment for this lesson.
