Exams and Assessments

Getting Started

Your grade for this course will be based on a variety of assessments. A list of these assessments can be found at the beginning of each module in the Module Checklist. The following types of assessments will be used in the Guitar I course. Select each type below to reveal more information related to the assessments and assignments.

Video Performance Assessments
For Video Performance Assessments, you will submit a video of yourself demonstrating new skills learned in the lesson. Record yourself as many times as you like, but only submit your best performance. Rubrics are provided to help you know what will be expected of you for each performance assessment. When you submit your video for assessment, you will include a self-evaluation using the rubric.

Lesson Quizzes and Assignments
Some lessons will have quizzes which may include multiple choice questions, true/false items, or short-answer essays. Other types of assessments may include project-based assignments.

DBA and Module Exams
You will complete a graded Discussion-Based Assessment at the end of each module. A rubric will be provided for each DBA. There will be a module exam at the end of most modules. Each module exam may include multiple choice questions, true/false items, or short-answer essays.

Segment Exams
There is a segment exam for each segment in this course. You will take the segment exam once you have completed all modules for a segment. Each segment exam may include multiple choice questions, true/false items, or short-answer essays. Don't forget to complete your Discussion-Based Assessments before taking your modules exams.
