Performance Overview

Module Two Performance

Congratulations, you have completed Module Two and should now be able to play your first songs on the guitar! Take a moment to reflect on what you can do:

Assessment Overview

You will have to complete three separate assessments to demonstrate your new skills. First you will submit your Module Two Practice Journal for review and grading by your instructor. Next, you will complete a Discussion-Based Assessment with your instructor. Then, you will complete the Module Two Exam.

Module Two Practice Journal

Within the practice journal document that you created for this module, you should have completed entries for each of your practice sessions. This will be submitted to your instructor for review and grading, and may be discussed during the Discussion-Based Assessment.

Discussion-Based Assessment

The Discussion-Based Assessment (DBA) will focus on the main points covered in each lesson and will give you an opportunity to discuss your development with your instructor. Your instructor might begin by discussing your practice journal and requesting a performance of specific performance pieces from the module. To improve your confidence playing live, continue to practice playing your songs in front of friends and family, or in front of a mirror. Like any other skills, playing live requires practice!

Prior to your DBA, be sure to review your practice journal and be prepared to discuss your progress throughout the module. Review each of your assessments and reflect on your performances. These will provide an opportunity to explore topics in more detail with your instructor.

Module Two Exam

The Module Two Exam will cover the music knowledge discussed throughout this module. Take the time to review all your notes, activities, and media in this module. You may also want to review the interactives included in this module prior to taking the exam.
